Tobey Maguire has named his son after himself.

The ‘Spider Man’ actor and his wife Jennifer Meyer confirmed their son - born on May 8 - is named Otis Tobias Maguire. The name Tobias is the birth name of Tobey and a formal version of the same name.

A representative confirmed Otis’ name at the end of last week, eight weeks after his birth. While the world waited to know his name, Otis was nicknamed ‘Spiderbaby’.

Tobey, 34, and jewellery designer 32-year-old Jennifer - who married in Hawaii in 2007 - also have a daughter, two-year-old Ruby Sweetheart.

Earlier this year, Tobey revealed Ruby was thrilled about becoming a big sister and was amazed by how much her mother’s stomach was growing.

He said at the time: “Ruby is loving it. She’s really into the belly and how it is growing. Ruby’s not really jealous, she just loves being around people, and this will be like having another little playmate.”

Tobey will next star in ‘Brothers’ later this year before starting work on a fourth ‘Spider Man’ film.
