Jennifer Garner’s divorce therapy
Jennifer Garner went to therapy after her divorce.
The 37-year-old actress realised she needed help following her split from actor Scott Foley in 2003 because she couldn’t express her real feelings.
She said: “I had a lot of growing up to do.
“I don’t like to argue. But back then, I couldn’t have a fight. I couldn’t work things out because I wasn’t able to say what I needed to say. It was a huge heartbreak for me. So I went to work on it. I started therapy.”
Jennifer is now happily married to Ben Affleck - with who she has two daughters, Violet, four, and 12-month-old Seraphina - and the couple make sure they spend time together without the children to keep the romance alive.
She explained to Parade magazine: “You steal the time. You steal a date, you steal a kiss, you steal a whisper. After the kids are asleep you… well, you know. Whatever it is. You slip away for a night.”
The ‘Juno’ star also admits she sometimes struggles with being a working mother.
She said: “I hate to miss even one bedtime with my girls. I understand that being an actress as well as being at home isn’t some heroic thing. That doesn’t mean it isn’t confusing or difficult - especially that question of how you find a balance.”
Do you think Katie Price's marriage to Alex Reid will last?
