  My name is Susan McCartney, and I used to live in Hastings in East Sussex. As you have probably heard the Hastings Pier was burnt down last night.
  It is sad that the pier was left to deteriate, and I am writing to ask if you or/and your Dad would add your support to getting the pier restored.
  As you and your family also once lived near Hastings, and I know your dad in particular spent time in hastings and indeed supported the hospital there. Your older sister Mary also went to school in Rye with my cousins.
  Anyway, I hope you read this, and if nothing else, seeing we share the same surname consider adding your name to the petition to restore the pier.
