Courtney`s new comeback CD due in February 2007 had no record label interested in releasing it, so Courtney`s producer Linda Perry is releasing it on her own label. Quite a gamble considering America`s Sweetheart sold anywhere from 86,000 -130,000 copies depending on which website you believe, and it fell off the Billboard Top 200 album charts after just 4 weeks. You have to sell a minimum of 500,000 CDs just to achieve gold record status, a million CDs to go platinum. Perry and Billy Corgan are doing the bulk of all the songwriting with courtney supplying the lyrics.

Courtney is strictly a D list celebrity over here in Hollywood, that`s why she keeps flying over to London, looking for acting work. When her comeback CD bombs, she`ll eventually end up with her own VH1 reality show, right alongside the other D listers trying to remain in the public eye.
