Victoria Beckham urges no flash photos because of son's epilepsy

fametastic-bot November 05, 2006 19:19
Victoria Beckham has ordered the paparazzi to stop taking flash photographs of her four year old son, Romeo, because he’s recently been diagnosed with epilepsy and she’s worried the flashes could spark a seizure. Romeo’s illness emerged after the family was ambushed by photographers at Heathrow airport last weekend. Romeo,…

The paparazzi is such filth. Leave the children alone. They did not ask to be in the spotlight.

NO ONE believes ANYTHING a celebrity says. If Victoria Beckham’s son REALLY has Epilepsy, and she wants the paparazzi to stop taking flash photos of him, she needs to do TWO things.

1st she needs the child’s ACTUAL Doctors to go before a press conference and CERTIFY, under penalty of losing his/her medical licence, that the child has in fact been diagnosed with Epilepsy, and this isn’t a stunt by Victoria Beckham to avoid the paparazzi.

2nd Victoria Beckham needs to be a responsible parent by requiring her son to wear large, wrap-a-round, extra dark sunglasses whenever he goes out in public with either or both of his parents.

Do you know how ridiculous you sound? Bet you are one of the scum bag paparazzi. What happened to simple human decency – if not considerate of VB, at least of an innocent child.

Jet, you are an idiot.

Victoria doesn’t have to do any of those. She is the mother of her child and whether she is caring about her son’s medical problem, his safety or just because they don’t want the publicity – its up to her.

They don’t need to prove jack.

Although I am not a fan of the Beckhams’- as a mom, my heart really does go out to little Romeo- no child should have to suffer the affects of such a devastating illness… with that said, I would think with this kind of diagnosis- VB would be wanting to be at home with her child as much as possible- not out on her self-promotion tour as usual… Unfortuantely, I highly doubt that we will be seeing any less of VB…

Why would they lie about something like this? Why would anyone? I’m sure this disease is very distruptive and heartbreaking. She shouldn’t have to prove anything to anyone, and no child should subjected to such humilation as to be forced to wear googles like that.

I think she should preserve her son from this type of exposure.

Nicky you’re right. Jet you’re an idiot.
No mother in her right mind would ever say something like that about her own child. Being a father of two boys I feel awful for VB and can only hope that the paparazzi show some respect and don’t use flash photography in Romeo’s presence. It’s the least they can do after all the money they’ve made off VB and DB over the years for their scandalous photographs.

I think the paparazzi should really back off and leave the little boy alone. Take pics of his mom, but leave him alone. He’s not the one who’s famous, it’s his mother. I don’t think she has to prove anything to the public by having his pediatrician give oaths that this child has any health issues. Her child’s health issues are none of your concern. I do agree that maybe she could be more proactive and take real, concrete steps to shield his eyes from the glare of flash photography.

Jet – I agree with you

& before anyone jumps down my throat, yes I do feel sorry for little Romeo, I feel dreadfully sorry for him that he has 2 stupid, greedy, publicity-crazy parents who don’t know when enough is enough. They have created this situation, noone else. They have started something they are now powerless to stop.

The Beckhams have put a great deal of effort into creating this publicity monster but now it’s not working in their favour their calling “wolf”, well sometimes life doesn’t always go how you want it to (I’m sure any normal person will agree) can be full of disappointments & things happen you don’t want to happen, but I guess it’s hard if you are used to having exactly what you want in life.

Yes it may be true (although then again I would hope it is not an attempt by VB to gain sympathy from the public) that he has epilepsy but how did the papers know? It wasn’t their fault – they don’t know everything!

The only people who are to blame are the Beckhams, they should be responsible enough to see their children are protected and that their so much craved celebrity status does not interfere with their safety.

Now the press are aware of his condition they have agreed to not photograph him. But a pair of glasses would be adviseable just in case. Romeo is the Beckhams responsibility, not the photographers, they’re just trying to do their job as per usual. And sorry to say it, but the world does not revolve around the Beckhams, although sometimes they would have you believe that!

The question the Beckhams really need to ask themselves is, is their fame worth more than the safety of their children?
