I think we might want to change the expression ‘stay-at-home’ mother given that in a highly mobile society most women with small kids take them on so many outings that the kids are out and about more than were they in daycare. Seriously.
Julia Roberts is a great role model for someone who is clever, beautiful and has lots of career options, who chooses to prioritize for a time, the care of small children she loves. Women who make this choice are not ‘staying at home’ which sounds so vegetable-like as if you are sick from school. They are working at home, nurturing another generation.
