This woman is an idiot. Everyone knows that deterrents do not work. Look back through history and realise that nothing is going to change, no matter how many people (who are possibly innocent) you kill.

I totally agree with Jamelias views. If National Service was made compulsory for school leavers who didnt have a job or college to go to, they wouldn’t be hanging around on street corners terrorising innocent people. National Service would make men out of MOST of them,- there is always a few to fall by the wayside. Never did my dad’s generation any harm, and it would teach people values and respect. Yob culture is everywhere. “One day, children will rule the world” is a famous quote, which is coming true every day. Also a ‘like for like’ law should be introduced – so if you decide to set an old lady’s hair on fire on the train home ‘cos youre BORED’, then the same should happen to YOU. If you decide to mug and maim someone ‘for the fun of it’, then, if you knew you’d be given the same treatment, these cowardly yobs would think twice. Something DRASTIC has to be done. The law as it stands, STINKS – and these yobs know it. Time the Government grew a backbone.

I agree with Jamelia, the only difference would be that IF the child could prove good grades at school – with a view to going to University and had no previous record of being in trouble with the authorities, then they should be allowed to continue with their education and be exempt – but on that ruling only !!!

please tell me what would you do with the person who walks up to an innocent man waiting for a bus, calmly pull out a knife and stabs this innocent man in the heart, would you be able to tell his young children what you would do with the people who killed the father they loved in cold blood.
tell them how you would cloth them, feed them, teach them new skills, give them medical care, all this and more comforts.
then one day some do gooder comes along and releases them into society to kill again.
human rights went out the window when that person commits a crime, the victim has no human rights he has no life, and nether should a killer.
