He didn’t have a normal childhood. So It’s not difficult to understand why he wasn’t able to be a good father. And he wasn’t able to take care of himself. And that is the worst thing (if you aren’t able to take of yourself, you won’t be able to take care of your children). Not a bad person. The masks were bad ideas. I think he loved his children.
