DJ Chris Moyles has called Girls Aloud’s Nicola Roberts a “sour-faced old cow” and attacked her appearance during a rant on his radio show.

Speaking on his BBC Radio One show this morning, he said: “Nicola is not the most striking one out of Girls Aloud, unless by striking, you mean ginger.

“It’s nothing to do with her hair or the way her face or body is, it’s that the sour-faced old cow never smiles - ever.

“She always looks peed off, like she doesn’t want to be in the band.

“Someone should show her the Girls Aloud bank account because if she worked at Tesco’s - and it would take a few years to build up to that level for her - she wouldn’t be making the money she’s making now.

“She’s got a great life flying all over the world yet her face looks like she works at Netto.”

Former S Club star Rachel Stevens is said to be delighted to have been picked for this year’s Strictly Come Dancing competetion.

The line-up for show, which is set to be launched on BBC1 on 13th September, also includes M People star Heather Small, George Clooney’s ex-girlfriend Lisa Snowdon, model Jodie Kidd and former Eastenders Jessie Wallace & Gillian Taylforth.

Rachel, who had limited solo success after the teen pop group disbanded in 2003, is already a favourite to win the dance-off but a source told the Daily Mail that she sees it as more than just that: “Rachel has met her dance partner. She is excited and getting stuck into training.

“She wants to tone up and get back the figure that won her millions of male fans in S Club.”

Billie Piper is reportedly planning to ask ex-husband Chris Evans to be the godfather of her unborn baby.

The former Doctor Who star and husband Laurence Fox are set to welcome their first child later this autumn and according to the Daily Mail, she’s told friends: “I want Chris to be part of the family. He would make a great godfather.”

A source close to the popstar turned actress that in return Billie might be asked to be godmother to Chris’ forthcoming child with wife Natasha Shishmanian: “Billie was one of the first people he confided in and she is delighted for him and Natasha.”

Billie and Chris married in a secret ceremony in Las Vegas in 2001, when she was 19 and he was 35. They were together for three years, largely staying out of the limelight, until they separated amicably in 2004 and their divorce was finalised last year. Chris married golfer Natasha in August last year while Billie married Laurence in a church ceremony on New Year’s Eve. Chris is said to have paid for and hosted Billie and Laurence’s wedding reception.

Jack Osbourne has said he thinks the reality TV show about his family, The Osbournes, did his dad Ozzy Osbourne a disservice.

He told Rolling Stone magazine recently: “I think The Osbournes, to a degree, tarnished the public’s perception of my dad as a bit of a senile, funny, bumbling guy.

“Yeah, my dad can be that guy, but it’s not [all of] him.”

Jack is currently working on a documentary about Ozzy because the former Black Sabbath frontman “refused to do a book” because of his dyslexia: “this is more like a talking book, a really thorough autobiography.”

“My dad’s not an idiot - he’s nothing short of a genius, in my opinion [but] he does have huge flaws, and we’re trying to really paint an honest picture of that.”

Darren Day has been banned for driving for 18 months after he admitting he was guilty of drink-driving earlier in the year.

Darren was pulled over by police in Cardiff on 18th June and found to be twice the legal limit - but still denied the charges at an earlier hearing. He was due to stand trial at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court yesterday but after arriving at the court without legal representation, changed his plea to guilty.

He reportedly pleaded with magistrates to not ban him from driving as it would affect his ability to work in touring shows and from seeing his children - particularly his weekend access to son Corey with former girlfriend Suzanne Shaw.

However district judge Geraint Watkins dismissed his request and fined him a total of £815 (including costs) as well as the driving ban.

Speaking on his way out of court, Darren told reporters: “I don’t want to talk about it. I’m upset and have nothing more to say.”

It looks like celebrity dads follow trends as much as their young offspring: following in the footsteps of Lindsay Lohan’s dad (who spent two years in jail), Hayden Panettiere’s dad (who was arrested for hitting her mum earlier this month) and Nikki Blonsky’s dad (who was arrested after an airport ruckus), Hilary Duff’s dad has been sentenced to ten days in jail over an alimony dispute.

According to the Houston Chronicle, Hilary’s mum Susan took ex-husband Bob to court yesterday to ask for $25,000 to cover the costs of Hilary’s 21st birthday party - because that’s how much they spent on older sister Haylie’s party two years ago.

The judge ruled that Bob had to pay half the figure - $12,500 - but then jailed him for 10 days for contempt of court, after selling family assets worth $367,537 without the court’s permission.

After the sentencing, Hilary’s mum Susan was reportedly heard saying: “This isn’t what I wanted.”
