Brad Pitt

Brief Biography

Brad Pitt was born on 18 December 1963 in Oklahoma but was raised in Springfield, Missouri. He attended Kickapoo High School and later University of Missouri, where he majored in Journalism with a focus on advertising. He left university just before qualifying for graduation to move to California and try his hand at acting.

After a number of small parts and television roles, it was Brad’s appearance in Thelma and Louise that thrust him into the limelight. A number of starring roles in major films followed and by the mid-1990s, Brad had established himself as a major Hollywood A-lister, for his acting ability as well as pin-up good looks.

Brad’s love life has received almost as much attention as his films: he dated Juliette Lewis for a number of years before getting engaged to Gwyneth Paltrow in 1996. After they split up in 1997, Brad met Jennifer Aniston after being reportedly set up on a blind date by their agents. The couple married in July 2000, spending $1million on the nupitals and were married for five years before deciding to separate and ultimately divorce. The couple’s split - and Brad’s subsequent relationship with Angelina Jolie - has provoked a storm of controversy in the media and between fans. Brad is currently living with Angelina and has adopted her children Maddox and Zahara, and as of May 2006, they have a daughter together, Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt.
