Christina Aguilera

Brief Biography

Christina Aguilera was born in Staten Island, New York on 18th December 1980 and lived on a variety of US Army bases until she was around 7, when her parents divorced. Christina sang from a young age and gained local media attention as “the little girl with the big voice”.

Christina joined The Mickey Mouse Club in 1993 alongside Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake. After the show ended in 1995, Christina began to record demos but it took until 1998 before she got anywhere, recording a song for the Disney film Mulan. In 1999, she released her self-titled debut album which sold over 8million copies in the US alone. She released a second album ‘Mi Reflejo’ in 2000 and ‘Stripped’ in 2002, then worked on other projects before releasing her fourth album ‘Back to Basics’ in 2006.

Christina is well known for her raunchy stage costumes and frequently adopts a retro-glamorous look for award shows and the like.

She dated dancer Jorge Santos between 1999-2001 and began dating music executive Jordan Bratman in 2002. After three years of dating, the couple got engaged in February 2005 and married in November of the same year.
